Nancy White Lippe

Founding Partner and Senior Strategist

Nancy has dedicated her career to learning, teaching, leading, and innovating in the education and community sectors. After five years as a general manager in the magazine publishing industry, Nancy earned a doctorate in education and shifted her focus to the nonprofit sector. Working both sides of the grant making aisle, she understands the challenges and opportunities not only of being a grant seeker, but also a grant maker. Nancy has taught philanthropy to youth, teens, families, college students, and adults in partnership with community foundations and universities for the last 20 years. She has managed a range of nonprofit organizations, including co-founding a charter school, developing a college scholarship and mentoring program for first generation college students, and serving as the director of a nature-based arts and environment program. Nancy has served on numerous nonprofit boards, as well as a site evaluator for the National Endowment for the Humanities. She is a member of the Summit Foundation's Executive  Volunteers Corps, advising emerging nonprofits, and former Strategist with The DeBoskey Group. She is a natural collaborator and educator and enjoys working with clients to guide them in achieving their philanthropic vision and goals. Nancy graduated With Distinction from Stanford University with a degree in Human Biology, and earned her Ed.D. from Fielding Graduate University.. She was a member of the  1980 Olympic field hockey team and continues her athletic endeavors as an avid outdoorswoman. Nancy has four grown children, and enjoys reading, puzzling, creating and traveling.

Carey Wirtzfeld

Founding Partner and Senior Strategist

Carey has committed the last three decades to using strategy and partnership to strengthen the impact of corporate and family philanthropy on donors and their communities. She has spent the past 10 years with The DeBoskey Group, working with families, individuals, and companies to help them integrate giving as a tool to bring families together, create legacy, and build strong corporate cultures.  Her background is as is a corporate social responsibility professional with experience leading corporate community programs and nonprofit organizations in the Denver area and nationally. She served as the Director of Corporate Social Responsibility for Qwest, the Director of the Qwest Foundation, and the CEO of the Pioneers, the nation’s largest industry-related volunteer organization. In her work at Qwest, Carey was responsible for developing and executing all community outreach efforts for the company including volunteerism and corporate giving. Carey received a Bachelor of Arts in Government and a Masters of Public Policy degree, with a focus on education policy, from Georgetown University. Carey started her career at Burson-Marsteller Public Relations in New York City, helping corporate clients develop and execute communications plans. She then joined the Brookings Institution in Washington, D.C. where she managed its Center for Public Management. Carey resides in Littleton, CO with her husband and two sons.
